This pissed me off. I got a wand of polymorph early and was "unlucky." God was angry at me too for some reason. I kept getting into crazy battles - one, I was a werejackel and summoned 10 familiars to get out of it. I kept surviving. Then I equipped some cursed boots (-1) and found myself in a real problem. Zap zap zap: giant bat -> stone giant -> winter wolf -> master mind flayer. I had no chance across the board. I was only level 5.
